BSAVA launches new online learning platform
"Our team of CPD experts, volunteers, and support staff have worked tirelessly to bring LUMOS to life" - Stacy Woodman, Interim CEO at the BSAVA.
LUMOS has been developed for small animal vets and veterinary nurses.

The BSAVA has launched a new online learning platform, LUMOS, to support veterinary professionals in day-to-day decision-making.

Designed for vets and veterinary nurses at every stage of their careers, LUMOS promises to deliver immersive, case-based learning through experience-led modules.

The platform has been created and reviewed by qualified veterinary professionals and features a flexible format enabling users to complete their learning in short, manageable sessions.

With a clear framework for progression, it also allows learners to track their development and work towards BSAVA LUMOS Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

Stacy Woodman, Interim CEO at the BSAVA, said: “We are delighted to launch BSAVA LUMOS, our innovative online learning experience developed for small animal vets and veterinary nurses. This marks a significant step forward in how the BSAVA supports learning, professional development, and career progression across the small animal veterinary profession.

“Our team of CPD experts, volunteers, and support staff have worked tirelessly to bring LUMOS to life, which has been deliberately designed with flexibility and relevance at its core in response to the changing needs of the profession. As LUMOS continues to develop, practitioners can look forward to seeing more modules being rolled out in the coming months.”

Milk recalled over presence of veterinary medicines

Graham's Family Dairy has issued a recall for its semi-skimmed milk due to the presence of veterinary medicines in the product.

In a risk statement, the Food Standards Agency said the presence of the medicines, including penicillin, make the milk unsafe to consume and 'may be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to antibiotics'.

Customers who bought the product are advised to return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
