Vet practices can request NMR tests online
National Milk Records' (NMR) Request and Test scheme

The National Milk Records' (NMR) Request and Test scheme is now available online, meaning veterinary practices can order specific disease tests to be carried out on milk samples, including Neospora, liver fluke and leptospirosis.

The tests are carried out through the company's National Milk Laboratories facility.

Chris Spence, from National Milk Laboratories vet services, said: "With permission from their dairy clients, vets can use this online service to request particular disease tests to be carried out on bulk milk samples. Our NML laboratory already keeps a supply of bulk milk samples for 98% of British dairy herds. On request, these can be accessed and used for carrying out disease tests."

The results can then be delivered directly to the vet to facility the rapid diagnosis of any problems.
